Surveying Basics I: Using Digital Total Stations

This session will explain the basic workings of digital total stations used in surveying with special focus on accuracies, errors, instrumental calibration and minor adjustments. Instrumental, personal, natural random and systematic errors will be discussed along with proper procedures to avoid most common pitfalls in the field. Learn how to avoid errors in measuring angles and distances. NEW hands-on training events scheduled Tuesday and Wednesday will offer participants opportunity to demonstrate and practice many of the calibrations within total stations which are easily tested and accommodated for by the surveyor in the field. NOTE: Attendees must register for Seminar MO01 before registering for the hands-on training—separate registration fees apply.
