Attendees will learn how to create outdoor kitchens and patios from design to completion. Concrete is a natural fire-proof material that retains heat and can be sculpted into any shape to bring drama, interest, color and texture to a selected focal point. Integrating an outdoor fireplace to landscape is easy to do and it can quickly become the focal point to any outdoor setting. Attendees will identify materials, wayfinding, continuity and flow, fire/water features and sustainable resources.
1. Identify quality outdoor patio and kitchen designs
2. Determine appropriate materials based on style and budget requirements
3. Explore types of flooring and how to properly size decorative concrete patios
4. Examine cast-in-place countertop techniques with industry standards
