The performance of masonry construction depends upon the skillful execution of well-designed details. This seminar addresses modular coordination, material compatibility and code influences on masonry design and construction. Solid barrier walls will be addressed, but special emphasis will be placed on cavity and veneer applications, which are especially difficult to detail properly. Fundamental principles are presented, followed by practical solutions. Innovative strategies to address chronic moisture problems in masonry walls will be presented.
